With all the coverage recently of the National
Dementia Strategy, the launch of the Social Care Constitution by Demos received
probably less publicity than it deserved. Demos, a national think tank,
launched the Constitution in conjunction with cross-party MP's, in order to
address the need for a fairer, clearer set of rules for carers and the
cared-for. But is this similar to the Dementia Strategy in that everyone
accepts that radical change is needed and there are a great set of ideas, but
no detail as to how this will work or how it will be funded?
